Thanks Snowman for the quick reply to my questions. I will check into the cable adjuster for the drive cable. I had an older L-Head engine and it was smoother than this new one. But you are wright, It will smooth out when under a heavy load.

Arens ST927 LE Drive and Engine Questions

I have two questions on this fine snow thrower that I purchased new in 2008. First is there a way to adjust the remote axle lock control because when ever I pull the lever in to release the wheel, It takes a couple of minuites of operation the machine before both wheels drive again. This is a real pain with only one wheel driving it. And the second question is should the engine be backfiring or poping through the muffler all of the time when it is running? Thank you for your help.
