John Deere 928E belt sizes
#2 Dec 29, 2009 8:00 pm |

Hi Guys,
I was just wondering what sizes to get as spares for my 928E as my operator's manual only lists part numbers. The drive belt is listed as 173324 while the auger is listed as 1736421. I was hoping to get some Gates "Green Belts" (rated for snow thrower use) as I had great luck with that brand with my old 1979 Gilson (which is still in use to this day).
This forum is a goldmine for OPE information - thank you.
Happy New Year by the way.
Thanks, Len

Hi Granville,
I have a 928 and it's a great machine. It is last years model.
The model from this year has been upgraded with the electric chute control and heated hand grips.
The gear box is still cast iron.
The wheel lock is an easy feature to use, however I don't use it that often. Just pop the button out of the wheel lock and the machine will free wheel to perform maneuvers at the end of the driveway.
It always starts on the first pull and it's a solid machine.
Is it more a Murray or Simplicity? I'll have to leave that up to someone more informed.

Blackjack,
I got my machine serviced at Agraturf in Smithville.
Very easy people to deal with.
Catt,
Where did you pick up the fuel gauge, that's a great idea.
