Wanted to post that I found the problem. The stone bent one of the auger blades and I was able to bend it back by hand. The noise is gone. Will keep an eye on throughout the rest of the season and may replace that blade if necessary.

No, I haven't tried that yet, but will give it a try tonight. Big storm heading my way, so hopefully I get it sorted.

Hit Slate Stone with Craftsman 88835

This is a new 88835, used about 4 times and I was recently clearing snow off my back patio that has 2 x 2 slate stonework. The machine hit an edge on one of the stones and it chewed it up, taking about 1/4 of the stone. Following that, when engaging the auger and impeller there a relatively loud banging noise. The shear pins are intact, so I'm looking for ideas on what is causing the noise. Bent auger blades or something else? Thanks.
