Ariens 926DL Review
#1   Dec 5, 2006 7:18 am
Well I finally got to use my new Ariens this morning. We received our first storm of the season last night. 25 - 30 cm was dropped from the sky. I had never used a snow thrower before, so when I looked out the window, I was jumping for joy. When I went to start it I had my first problem. I followed the instructions for starting with the pull cord but no luck. I then plugged it in and it started on the first crank. Don't know what the problem was (maybe where I leave it outside with a cover over it, it was too cold to start)

The snow was deep, heavy and wet and I was worried that the machine wasn't up to it. When the Auger bit into the snow, it threw it maybe 15 feet which was a surprise due to the weight of the snow. There was a lot of man handling involved, pushing it along in someplaces but I was very impressed with it's performance in this kind of snow. My neighbour wouldn't even attempt it. I noticed a few other people on the road were giving it a try but none of their machines were throwing half the distance I was.

I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone. It was baptized in very severe conditions and came through a winner. I can't wait to try it out on some light stuff.

Greetings folks. I'd like to take a moment to say I'm a first time caller and hope to make many more in the future. I had been looking for a good snowblower for a couple of months and had been following the discussions posted here with great interest. I finally decided on the Ariens 926DL. The only location I could find that sold one was the Home Depot centre which came here a couple of years ago. I was a bit concerned with this from all the bad news I've been hearing about the way they assemble their machines. It would have been a waste of time for me to assemble it myself due to my ten thumbs. There was a one week delay with the delivery so they assembled it and shipped it to me for free. When I received it, I noticed the the remote chute deflector wouldn't lower. I called Home Depot and they immediately said they would send someone to my house to have a look at it. As it turned out I was able to fix it myself by just pulling the sides slightly away from the chute to prevent the two peices from rubbing together. I called them back and cancelled the service call.

I have to say my experience with them has been a very positive one. The machine works fine and I hope to post some pictures of it in the near future.
