Re: Ariens 924124 electric start ground pin broke off

Thank you all for the excellent advise. I will use it as is this season and review it in the Spring. For Trouts2 - from what I can see the starter plug socket is part of the entire wiring harness part #000277600 from the 924124 parts book. A very quick google showed prices in the upper 40's. I for any reason I need other parts in the spring I may buy the wiring harness also. But for now my plan is to leave it as is, and have my wife start it every time ;-)

Ariens 924124 electric start ground pin broke off

When I removed the extension cord from the starter plug on my 2004 9hp Ariens 924124 today the ground pin broke off and was still in the cord socket. After I finished what I needed to I removed the broken pin from the extension cord and plugged the cord back into the starter socket. It started fine. Looking at the parts book it appears that the starter socket is part of the whole wiring harness. This is obviously not a good time to do what looks like a major job. Also the part seems to be about $50. I think that the ground pin is to prevent shocks by connecting to the ground from the outlet. If I am careful is there any reason that this repair can't wait until after snow season?

Low pressure tire gauge for snowblower
#3 Sep 22, 2011 2:09 pm |

I have a older Honda snowblower with 14 x 4.0 -6 tires. I have already ruined one of them by overinflating it. I does say on the tire that the working pressure is 8.5 psi and that max pressure to seat is 17 psi. Whil getting ready for this season one tire seems awful low again. and its pressure doesn't register on my 0 - 60 gauge. Does anyone have a recomendation for an accurate low pressure gauge? are digital gauges accurate at low pressure?

Re: Belts on an 1989 Honda HS80

One inch short sounds about what I need to get over the engine pulley. I went over the HS80 this morning looking for ID information and all I have is an engine number and a serial number tag that begins with "SA1-" Thank you for the help. I plan on calling the Honda dealer first thing Monday morning and getting the correct belt.

I am starting to question if I have the correct belt also, I bought both belts from a Honda dealer. The auger belt in question is part HON 22432-736-A01 V-BELT (SB-216A) from my sales slip. But when I looked at the part diagram they gave me the belt had a part number of 22432-738-C31. That dealer was closed when I called today, but a Honda that I could reach said the belt I had was for a track (TA) model. I have a HS80 WAS, is the auger belt different then for a Track model?
