saving from scrap- hope it's worth it? Original Message Mar 17, 2005 2:30 pm
came across a 5hp craftsman ( I think) snowblower with just minor damage to top of shoot. it is a Track drive. If engine turns over I think I'll take it. also - a 5hp lawn vac with a large fiberglass housing. large bysicle type wheels. minor fiberglass repair needed. I think I can get both for $50 /pr. what do you guys think on this??? do I need them- no, but think they are too good to pass on. their is also a roto..something snowblower that has 2 identical augers in it. one on top of other, fairly large ones. then paddle for secondary. 5-6 hp. this worth saving? Well, I got back from the scrap place..got the track drive blower for $25. appears about a 7 on 1-10 scale..maybe a 8. the lawn vac is gone. as far as the last response- yes, it indeed is a roto-mower. almost identical to that pic of petes. maybe a year or two newer? not sure as motor is missing fan cover. rest is there and not bad shape. thanks. p.s. was offered a vintage sod stripper with a old 12-16 hp wisconsin on it for $50. to heavy to tackle for me, but is worth considering thou.
