Castrol Syntec 5W50 in air cooled engines

I picked up a gallon of Castrol Syntec 5W50 oil today cheap. Plan to use it in air cooled engines such as generators, riding mowers etc. Anyone have experience with the weight of oil? I generally use Rotella T 15W40 conventional oil. This stuff was close to the same price so I thought I'd give it a shot. Anyone experience any drawbacks from using 5W50 in air cooled engines?
