I have narrowed my choices down to 2 tractors....Husqvarna yth 24v42 ls or toro timecutter ss 4260. Both dealers are excellent ...not sure which way to go. Any thoughts....

You don't say what you're mowing or how much or under what conditions. Plus there's a big price difference between the two. In general, a ZTR will be a bit quicker as long as you are on flat ground and especially if there are obstacles (trees, garden areas) to go around or lots of tight turns. Both have rather small decks (42") so if you have an acre or more, you might want to consider something with a bigger deck. Another thing to consider is the size of any gates you may have to pass through and what sort of storage space you have. BTW, do you have a Cub Cadet dealer nearby? I've heard good things about the LTX 1046 KW. A major consideration is if you have steep slopes or rough ground -- under those circumstances I would not not consider any of the above. Also keep in mind that these are lawn mowers, not tractors. They're not a good option for moving snow or pulling a heavy cart loaded with firewood; you'll wear out that lightweight hydro in a couple of years and possibly void the warranty.
