Prices of used Toro CCR2000 / CCR3000 going down?
Original Message   Jan 17, 2012 12:16 pm
Has anyone noticed prices of these two models have gone down compared to last year?  It seems like the high replacement costs of coil and carburetor parts of the Suzuki engine has made these two models less desireable.

Or has prices gone down in general due to lack of snow.  :)

A garden hut dealer here posted his machines on craigslist saying 75.00 off of our sale prices on these machines. They need to go. We don't have any snow in northern Minnesota to speak of either.

I'm seeing the same on CL in Chicago, same machines being posted over and over again.  Nothing's moving, even after that last snow we had a week ago.  Even local stores still have new ones sitting around.  In contrast to last year's winter, almost all snowblowers and shovels were sold by January 2011.

The lack of snow has also had an effect on this board.  Been kind of dull.  No storm reports.  No comments and stories.  No first hand reviews on blower performance.
Of course the season is still somewhat young.  Maybe this year it's going to start late and end late.

Have to agree.  No snow = no use of machine = no breakdowns = no questions on how to fix and no interesting posts.    We need a "snow stimulus" package!

Very likely for snow soon.    Expecting 5-8 inches on Friday afternoon in Chicago, under winter advisory.   Looks like it's really happening.   It's been so cold lately, I'll glad trade the cold temps for six or more inches of snow.

Of course, air travel to and from Chicago will be greatly delayed.
