A weatherproof cover for my snowblower
Original Message   Dec 30, 2011 10:29 pm
No more flimsy tarp for me, no piles of snow icing up my blower

Used a tarp for mine for one season, what a pia. Was also thinking of setting up a temporary sort of lean-to on the side of my shed using pipes & a tarp, that I could drive into & out of instead of covering & uncovering with each use. Be careful if you use that cover for summer storage, get your machine & cover up off the ground to allow for good air circulation underneath.
Cheers

The tarp running to the ground will prevent rain splashes getting up under the tarp on the bucket and wheels.  I store a number with tarps and they’re cleaner and dryer when the tarps run to the ground.

The bigger problem is wind or having the top collapse onto the machine from pooling of water on the tarp or snow crushed.  It helps to run a board under the tarp from the bucket to handlebars.

Kerryall,

That’s a clean looking machine.  It looks like a basic MTD 826 with some age.  How about a report on that thing?

How long have you had it?

What’s your area like?

How does it do?

Have you had any problems or repairs?

The barrel top and lower bucket look very good.  Did you garage it in the past?  It’s even got some stickers on the barrel that aren’t faded.

Looks like the skid is worn and ready for replacement.  Is the bottom just buried in the grass?
