For Sale Honda Track Type Snowblower Model HS928TA
Original Message   Dec 11, 2011 7:22 am
I found this on Craigs list in South Jersey.   I think he wanted 2400 for it a few days ago.  You may be able to get it for less than 2k

Looks like a great deal.  Maybe he got a 2-stroke fever reading Abbysguide.

It's now listed for $2000. By the way, I got the 2 stroke fever, but that's not my garage in the picture :)

I wonder why he bought it to begin with and why he's selling it off before he even used it.... Seems like a lot of machine for someone in South Jersey.

No where in the ad does he say never used.  One thing I have learned with craigslist is "Brand New" doesn't necessarily mean never used.

I see all the time:
brand new: only used 2 hours
brand new: works great
brand new: only used one season
...

That's a very good point, Shryp. You always have to be careful when dealing with anybody on CL.

For just $300 more you can go to a Honda Dealer and buy the same machine brand new, so why take a chance on a Used one for $ 300 bucks.  If he damaged it somehow, it'll cost you a whole lot more than $ 300 bucks to fix anything serious. Pushing this Honda snowblower with the Hydrstatic Transmission engaged can do serious damage to the transmission, a really Big Ticket item to fix, best not to take any risks.

All Honda power equipment products (including snowblowers) have a warranty that may be transferred to a new owner. All you do is call Honda Customer Relations with the frame serial number and give them the new owner details. (770) 497-6400

The Fine Print:
2-stage snowblowers sold on or after 1/1/2010 have a 3-year warranty. This applies to both private residential and commercial/rental operators.
Single-stage snowblowers sold on or after 1/1/2010 have a 24 month warranty (private residential/consumer) and 3 month warranty for commercial/rental operators.
• Keep in mind what the warranty covers or doesn't cover. For example, if the previous owner left untreated fuel in the tank for a long time and it gummed up the carburetor, a repair/cleaning or replacing the carburetor is not covered under warranty.
• You can see the warranty document here: http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/pdf/warranty/P-PWL50623-P.PE.Dist.Ltd.Warr.pdf
• Honda asks for personal information when registering in case Honda needs to contact you regarding an update or product recall. Honda does not use your personal information to sell or market anything to you, unless you opt-in first. Note the default is to opt-out.

Caveat: I work for Honda, but the preceding was my opinion alone.

I sent the guy an email and asked him if it was brand new "NEVER USED" and he replied that it was used for a few hours.  Some much for telling the truth in the original ad.

Hi Carl! Worth a look if the photo is ok? I would expect to bargain further at the point of sale as well. Marc

Mark,

I have no use for it as my mid 80's 11hp 26" Cub Cadet is all ready to go.   I just posted it in case someone on the board might have some interest.
