Either that bucket is really tall or those augers are really short. The same thought crosses my mind every time I look at the Husqvarna snowblowers...it just does not look right.

What exactly is Husqvarna chain drive? Is this friction disc transmission? That's how Husqvarna lists the drive system for certain models on their website. The first snowblower I ever used was a "SnowShark" that had a chain drive system - what a PITA!!!! I'm not sure if SnowShark was the manufacturer or the model name but whenever it snowed the hardest and deepest, the chain would break and that would be the end of it. I was only about 10 years old or so (late 60's, early 70's) and it was the first snowblower my father owned. We ended up getting a nice Sears Craftsman 8 HP, 24" Bucket model just before the blizzard of '78 and that was a great snowblower. I hope they've made improvements to that type of system if in fact it is chain drive.

good question! I called husqvarna and asked, the answer is: Chain drive "is" Friction disc. they jut call it chain drive. I guess chain drive is easier to understand than "radial platter torque generator / speed reduction encabulator" I'm still trying to figure out what is a turbo encabulator is. Anybody seen David?

Maybe it just means a chain drives the friction plate instead of a belt?
Maybe it means they use chains and sprockets for final gear reductions instead of gears?
Need more info.
Nothing unusual here: , 2 belts in front as usual, one for impeller, the other for the disc drive,
Uses chains and sprockets for reductions.
