Thanks Borat. Still waiting for a reply from the folks at Homelite as to the engine maker and date of manufacture, but I suspect it could be either a Homelite or a Jacobsen engine. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info or parts available on the web on either, so I'll start by a quick clean up and see if she starts & runs and go from there.
EDIT, Another dead end, here is the reply I just got from Homelite, "
Unfortunately, there is no manufacturing data available on old vintage products of that type" LOL, I guess by that definition I am an old vintage product (pushing 60). So these must have been made in the 60s or 70s.
