Off-season use for your snow blower!
Original Message   Jul 26, 2011 11:26 am
I'm sure you all are equally creative when it comes to maximizing you OPE investments, but here's one I haven't seen yet. He uses this to move his trailer around (no info on what kind of trailer), it's a 10 horse tractor section from an un-named machine.

Feel free to show us your ingenuity.

Cheers

That's certainly creative.  My first Ariens Sno-Thro was designed to be a multi-function machine.  It was a ST504 and one could swap out the snow thrower and attach a roto-tiller or a  lawnmower unit in place of the blower.  I thought it was an interesting concept but I never bought any of those attachments for it.  The advantage is that you only have to maintain one engine but the dis-advantage is that multiple pieces of equipment were dependent on that one engine running properly.

Yes, but it may be easier to keep one engine running all year round, rather than having to deal with startup & shutdown of several?

I'd love to get some attachments for the Ariens.  Could always keep 2 engines running, that way you have a backup and can have 2 attachments ready to do.  Alternate between then and use them just enough to keep them both running.
