Cub Cadet 8/26 restore
Original Message   Jun 17, 2011 12:59 pm
Here are some pictures of my just restored Cub Cadet 8/26. I purchased this snow blower without an engine for 40 dollars. It has a 16" auger and 14" 4 blade impeller. I modified the impeller for 1/16" clearance to the bucket for better performance.

It is a 1984 model and cost 1095 dollars new.  This thing is a beast at 305lbs, It steers real easy with its differential and has great grip on both wheels when going forward

there are no tirgers for the diff and yes the item in the photo is the diff unit.
those are the original handles just cleaned up and painted
the engine is a 6.5hp harbor freight.
Nice spot on the snapper shoot.   I put the cub shoot on my large frame snapper that i am going to sell this fall/winter
