Sears 6.5HP Push Mower

I just got a sears mower given to me. It is a briggs 6.5HP Motor, it will not start.

Any suggestions, i replaced the spark plug and got new gas. When you try to crank it sometimes it will kick back like a 2 Stroke. I am getting spark

Any help would be great

Check the fuel system from the tank to the carb. Confirm that fuel is or is not getting into the float bowl. Get back to us with your findings.

if the engine kicks back at all then u need to check for partail/sheered flywheel key....the engine should NOT kickback at all.
