Simplicity problem
Original Message   Feb 2, 2011 9:41 pm
Got about 2 feet of snow with 4 foot drifts and my reliable Simplicity 8 hp decides to take a dump for the first time ever!  I was at the end of the driveway working on the gift the city snow plow left for me and it suddenly just stopped throwing snow.  Engine kept on running and I was able to have it power itself back up my driveway.

Motor runs fine, when I go to fire up the impeller, nothing happens.  Shear pins in the auger appear to be in place.  I can manually spin the impeller with my hands which causes the auger to also move, so I am thinking the problem is not the shear pins.  Any suggestions?

Just remove the belt cover which is usually held in place with a bolt on either side
