Breaking the Plastic Top of Auger on Toro PowerMax 8/28
Original Message   Jan 29, 2011 9:57 am

I just bought a used Toro PowerMax 8/28 with a broken auger top. The owner said this was the 2nd time he has broken the Top of the Auger Bucket. Strange that Toro would build this part out of Plastic.  Anyone else have the same issues?

I have had my 826OXE for about 2 months so far I dropped a 6' aluminum ladder  and actually slid on ice and landed on stop of the chute and its still in one piece. Did I mention I was using my blower as an ice cube maker breaking apart some mounds left by the NYC Sanitation plows, the ice was shutting through this shoot it sounded like a 12 guage bouncin off the side of a steel barn........The plastic they use is top notch, IMHO

Yeah it's surprising that his broke. I think he means the plastic return for the snow to recycle to the auger. I'm not sure how you could break that. The sound of ice going through that plastic chute does sound like a shotgun in full auto mode.

Just curious but are you still considering trading your Toro for a Honda?
