Ariens 1028 Just repaired and tuned, is not throwing snow as far as it should? Anyone can help
Original Message   Jan 27, 2011 10:17 am
Goor morning, I have an Ariens 1028 snowblower purchased used several years ago and since some seasons it seems not to throw snow as far as it should.  I recently noticed my neighbour with a smaller one having much more succes clearing his driveway! The snow only falls few feet away. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I have an electronic version of the manual for it, but no mention of this problem in the troubleshooting section.  Thank you for your help.  Martin

I would think the belt is slipping. But they did not reduce the engine rpm when it had work done to it did they?  A motor down on compression will also throw less distance to

I was looking at the distance on a Honda 2-stage blower and there is actually a lot of distance between the impeller and the wall next to it, so closing that gap is one way to increase throwing distance, but if it is just a few years old and it suddenly is throwing a shorter distance, then I'd think it would be preferable to find out why the issue started. Now if its always been like that, then I guess it makes sense to improve the design with the impeller kit.
