Auger Belts for MTD
Original Message   Jan 19, 2011 8:40 pm
When my Dad went to get new belts for the MTD I am giving him. The Part number for the two Auger belts he got is 754-0430B

In the Ops Manual, the Part # is 754-0430-A. Still a set of two belts, I won't know if they fit until this weekend when we open it up.

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the A and B part numbers?

Thanks for the Help!

I know Tecumseh tacks letters on the end of part numbers when they make new revisions or improvements on the old ones.  I have no idea how MTD does it though.

You could google the 2 numbers and compare the sizes given to see if they are the same.

Thanks for the Reply,

I got energetic, and changed them tonight. They were the same length, style, etc.

I did google, but it just listed both, no talk of differences. Figured I could change them quicker than researching

Will try blowing snow tomorrow, see if it helped with the distance or not!!!

Bearing and Transmission in Regina has a good selection of belts if you cant find the right MTD ones.  Take the old belts in and they can probab;y match them up.

Thanks! That is were I got the belts for my Rototiller, great Place.

My Dad actually bought the belts from Canadian Tire, $28 for the set, not bad price.

My concern was the letter B instead of A, but I have installed, and they seem to work fine, time will tell.
