That is the funny thing. It is not that they are plowing more than once per storm. It is just that they go down the street a few times to get it all. We are on a side street and usually get the plows last in the city. They make a few passes down each side of the street when they are here to get most of it, but she is too stupid to wait a half hour and let the plows move on.
I do go over and do her and several other neighbors when I get the snowblower out. Problem with that is as stated above she goes out and shovels before the more sensible people are out there.
I have had her call me in the afternoon to ask me to snowblow her sidewalks only to find her outside shoveling 5 minutes later. She never gives me a chance. As I am sure anyone else he does, I do my own yard before I do anyone else's in case something breaks. So by the time I would get to hers she is already done.
I should add that they used to shovel because their old snowblower didn't run very well. They went and bought a new one and I think i have seen them use it once in 3 years. They are some odd people.
Well you do what you can. My neighbors have asked me to help them out and I said sure if you can find a way to get it down there and back. I'm not going to walk it 1/4 mile or more each way down a narrow barely plowed road with very few houses on it.
It sounds like that woman is very independent. Her choice, you offered but that's about all you can do.
As far as them not using their new snowblower, see my sig.
"If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you live in New England." "If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you live in New England."
