Snapper I524 Snowblower
Original Message   Jan 17, 2011 5:31 pm
The auger on my Snapper snow blower does not throw the snow very far and clogs easily.  Does anyone have an idea what is wrong and how to correct this?

Thank you

spray your auger and chute with silicone lubricant spray and you will see better performance.

That was the first thing I tried.  It still only throws the snow a couple of feet.

how is your belt tension?  are they running at full speed? Does your auger spin freely when the engine is off?  If yes, you need to replace shear pins.

I was just thinking it might be a loose or worn belt.  I'm going to check that.
