Toro PowerClear 180 leaving black marks
Original Message   Jan 15, 2011 8:02 pm
I bought a toro powerclear 180 a few weeks back.  I've been impressed with the machine.  For a little guy, it does a nice job of moving snow.  The only problem I'm getting is that it leaves these black marks/streaks on my interlock driveway.  Am I doing something wrong or is the machine doing it?

Are you burning some rubber (your rubber auger) on your concrete?  Are you pressing a little too hard to get forward motion?   Is the black streak near the center as you blow/move - then I would guess this is your rubber signature.

Either tipping forward too much or you're moving too slow. You don't need to get all flakes off the bricks. The sun will warm the bricks and melt the thin layer of snow. I have pavers too and never left any rubber tracks behind.
