older John Deere snow thrower carb.

I have an old (P726F) J.D. machine with a 7 h.p. Tecumseh  engine. Just bought it, sat for a few years. I need to rebuild carb, dirt in system and fuel pours out of bottom of fuel bowl. How do you remove it (carb)? 2-nuts spin on the studs! Can I do carb rebuild on machine?

Are you sure those studs are not really philips screws?

Also, depending on how bad it is you might be able to get away with just tipping the machine on the bucket and cleaning the carb on the machine.
