I remember about a month ago someone was looking for a new snowblower because the plastic wheels on the tracks kept breaking.
I just found this link today.

Thanks for the feedback Syryp.
I gave up my MTD Trackster for another machine. The drive wheels had stress cracks and it was becoming evident that I was not going to find certain replacement parts very easily.
After 14 years the machine in general was becomming unreliable and since other parts also had significant signs of wear I sold it.
So far my new Ariens machine is doing just fine only I have to quantify my purchase by starting a cost per storm calculation all over again. First storm =1849, second =924.5, third=616.3 and so on and so on.
I will naturally loose count after a few years but after 14 years I figure the cost per storm quantifying my MTD purchase was down to about $3.00 per storm and I certainly couldn't hire anyone for that price.
Shovels are still much cheaper but it takes only one bad back episode and its' the Chiropractor that buys himself the new snowblower. No way....
I can honestly say that the MTD track mode snowblower was a super manuverable, very reliable machine.
