10+ Year Old Sealed Bearings ....
Original Message   Dec 6, 2010 8:14 pm
Curiosity got the best of me tonight. Granted these don't see a heavy duty cycle, I was curious how much or how little grease was in my 10+ year old sealed bearing...

Just a quick pic for those just as curious...

No bearing swaps for me. In my theme of R&R, I'm keeping all things OEM....including the original made in japan bearings....

After really getting into this and gutting, I can see how things fit and the whole GX200 swap does not really look like a doable modification due to sizing of things and in keeping with all things OEM...

The shed is done, I left her unfinished. This leaves me with a whole couple of months to spend more time finding the perfect finish versus me just settling....so come springtime, clean, sand and then 2 coats of TBD ?

No snow yet, and I've yet to put the 621 back together. Still waiting on my parts order and besides, I'm on my 3rd coat that I just wetsanded. So another day for the solvents to evaporate, lay one more coat of paint and SHHHHHH, wait till it's real late and she's asleep so I can put the parts in the oven to bake them.....

The GX200 doesn't fit?  Its the same engine block and mounting points as a GX160, only the piston stroke is lengthened.  Are you talking about a GX200 clone?  Anyways, you can always do other mods to boost power, check out the karting forum.  :)

Baking paint?  Are u powder coating?

Actually the tank, etc is a different animal and the top cover would look out of place or I would have to do a serious mod to it - to make things look OEM, and that is time I just don't have right now...

Actually on the baking, no powdercoating. But baking so that the solvents in the paint fully cures to a point where I like it before I start to put things back together.

Yeah, the GX200 metal tank won't fit.  You'll have to hook a hose to the stock molded plastic tank on the snowblower, and reuse the GX160 muffler.
