Are these Subaru Engine Features Common or Unique Original Message Sep 28, 2010 5:06 am
The Subaru SX30 is only 287cc, but has a few features. I just don't know if they are unique. They include cast iron cylinder liners, a pentroof cross flow combustion chamber, overhead cam with fewer parts and presumably more accurate valve timing (OHC has a stiffer valve train), ball bearings on the crankshaft, and aluminum connecting rods. It doesn't have a balance shaft however with the OHC, ball bearings, and aluminum connecting rods would it needs one?
