I own a generac svp-5000 generator, i blew the motor, now need to know how to remove the generator head to replace the motor.if any 1 can help,it will be greatly appreciated.it seems to have internal bolts,in the generator, that secures the generator to the back of the motor on the bell housing.thx.i've removed the bell bolts and disconnected the outlet box,but it seems to be very securely attached to the motor... groan.

Generators (95% of them ) are attached to the engine with housing bolts that hold the housing to engine case... The armature of the generator is held to the shaft of the engine by a single long bolt on a coned rotor shaft to the tapered engine crank shaft... 1. To remove the Generator from the engine first remove the bearing cap oppisite from the engine and disconnect any need wiring., the long bolt may need to be removed at this point also...(crank bolt) 2. The housing / stator needs to be removed from the engine... (at this point you should have the rotor hanging in the air on the back of the engine..) 3. The rotor is removed with a strike from a brass or hard rubber hammer on the bearing surface of the Rotor (the area farthest from the engine).... I like to have a secound person there to catch the rotor so it does not damage it's self as it "pop's" its seal and falls off. If I do not have someone to catch I fold a large beach towel up and place it under the rotor on the bench.. Note: It takes quite a smack with the brass hammer to remove the rotor, It has the same pressed tapered area like a small engine flywheel and needs about the smae force to break it free... Post some pictures of what you have off so far... we can look at them and give our 2 cents on how to proceed.. Good Luck, Friiy
