Yardman 2 Stage - Only 1 Auger Turns
Original Message   Feb 9, 2010 5:52 pm
I just finished my driveway utilizing 1 of 2 augers.....I just replaced the auger belt and shearing pins, I can't figure out why the left auger will turn but but not the right. When shut off the left auger is difficult to spin, but the right auger ( the one that will not engage when on ) spins freely...any ideas? Intuitively I don't think a gearbox failure would only affect 1 auger.

Thanks

if you have the shear pins in place and the auger still spins freely on one side, there must be a problem with your gearbox.

time to crack it open and see what's going on.

Sounds like a broken shear pin to me.

Agreed, you sound fortunate to have a freely spinning auger too...
