Ariens Pully

The drive pulley off our Ariens ST1136 (model 924071) sheared off.  We have a new pulley ordered (part # 73049).  My question is does the coolar (the part of the center that sticks out) get installed out towards the auger or in towards the engine.  The parts manual seems to just have a picture of a pulley and no indication of the collar.  I should have noted this when I took the pulley collar off, but I did not.  I assume (you know what happens when one assumes) that the collar goes out towards the auger and then the nut tightens against it.

THANKS

If I understand right there is a slight collar on the pulley that goes to the engine side.  The flat side goes to the nut/auger side.

THANKS

I knew that someone on this site would know the answer.  I had replaced the belt and the new tighter belt must have gave tioo much resistance and the pulley just sheared off.  This did give me a chance to get more familar with my machcine.

What does it mean that your pulley "sheared" off?

the center was still on the shaft and the rest of the pulley was off.  It was if the cdenter stayed put as the rest of the pulley spun off.
