Carb Soak Question
Original Message   Jan 14, 2010 5:51 pm
I have a  Craftsman single stage snow blower which has been sitting for three years now unused with gas in tank. As you can imagine there is plenty of varnish in carb. So I did dismount the gas tank and cleaned it out  along with the fuel line . Thats the easy part. My question is what do I soak my carb in to losen up the varnish and crud build up ? By the way I ordered a carb kit which includes needle valve,VITON seat and bowl gasket.

Kudos as well. I love this site! I tried your double-dip on a carb from an old generator that hasn't puffed in two years. It was soaked in Gumout for 48 hours before that, without results. I'll be damned! I now have a reliable 5KW backup to run my pump, furnace, and beer fridge. I owe you one, buddy!
