I have a MTD Yard Machine two stage snow thrower.......I have had it for several years and this year when I needed it most the auger belt was chewed up....no problem....I  got a replacement from HD.....according to the owners manual.....and replaced it....as soon as I started to run it.....it flip off....I thought I had put it on wrong....but I had it on right according to the manual.......this did it again and again......I gave up.....Anyone have any suggestions?....I called customers service....and found out how useless they were..........

Check the tension pully and make sure it is lined up  and also look from the top and make sure both pullys are in line and one is not out a touch.  If they are not lined up that could cause the problem.

Guess that is the problem.....the pullies don't line up....never paid much attention to that until now.........don't see any way to adjust it....nor is the manual any help

Loosen the set screw on the pully and line them up
