Problems with posts
Original Message   Nov 26, 2009 3:45 pm
Administrators: For some reason, when I submit posts, everything ends up being one long paragraph despite the fact that I had posted it with separate lines and paragraphs. Is there a reason for this? Is there something I can do to correct it?

Borat, This does not address your issue directly but you get various results depending on the browser used. They send different non-printing characters into the Abby text editor. A spiffy editor will anticipate these and know how to format correctly. For example when I use Opera browser and type into the Abbys editor it posts and ampersand (&) and numbers where a single quote mark is used. You see these all the time in posts. One way to make it a little easier for Abbys editor is to send simple text. I use Microsoft so have Word. I can writeup a post in Word and save it as txt instead of .doc which has much more complicated formatting. The text sent is much easier for Abbys to understand. You can do the same by using Notepad or Wordpad and use txt inplace of text rich format. I don’t know Mac’s but they probably have a simple editor you can use to write up a post on your computer then cut and paste that into Abbys editor. I generally read posts in Opera browser but if I want to post I have to switch to Microsoft Internet Explorer for the text to come out right or write something locally and cut and past it as txt for it to post right. The toolbar took a vacation about a month ago but is back at least in my browser. I have not upgraded or changed any of my setup.

The above was edited in Word and sent as txt.  The original had paragraphs and seperations between them.

The post below is the same original but posted from Internet Explorer.  It used a different font, bold and unbolded the bottom part.

Thank to every one for all of the help. I'll have to see what this Mac has for a simple text editor. Still getting familiar with this thing.

FYI: There is a simple text editor called "TexEdit" within Applications folder.
