New 4 Stroke Toro Powerlite
Original Message   Nov 16, 2009 8:55 pm
Has anyone had any experience with the new Toro Powerlite with an 87 cc 4 stroke engine.  It's called the Power Clear 180.   They haven't arrived here in my neck of the woods.  I was thinking of getting one.  I already have a 2 stage Ariens.  The little powerlite would only be used to clean some steps, a walkway and to clean up the little bit of snow the 2 stage leaves.   I can't find any of the old 2 cycle 98 cc powerlites.

I've used the older Powerlite.  While fairly powerful for a little sucker, it vibrated and hopped around on the pavement like a paint can shaker.   It took more effort to keep it going straight than pushing forward.  I wouldn't mind seeing how the new one perform now that it is 4 stroke with more weight.

I think 50 lbs is still manageable and reasonable to toss in the back of a wagon.  I'd wouldn't mind buying the Powerclear 180 and an electric power shovel, but I already have 2 snowblowers.  :)

No one has purchased the Powerclear 180 and posted a review about it.  Dealers are just beginning to stock it.
