I think you need a Blade... If your driveway is not paved and you have big trees overhanging the drive you may have rocks , branches, trash, beer bottles (from being right off the highway) hiding in the snow... Some of these things can cripple a blower making it worthless until repaired. But you may also need a thrower to get around the areas around the house that as blade can't get.. .
I don't know what kind of property you have, you might not have room to store another car.... but I have see people in Utah at there cabins take a old midsize/ small suv Isuzu Trooper, or such and mount a small plow on it...
They don't keep insurance on it, smog it, or get plates for it because it never leaves the farm/cabin...
They thing is what is your time worth?, How long would it take to blade off? How many times have you not wanted to go to the cabin because it "Snowed too deep"?
