Does anyone have an electronic copy of the owners manual for a Toror 724 Model # 38050. SN8002993. This is a 1978 model year.A neighbor has one he'd like me to get running again.

Regards,

I looked on line for a copy in pdf, all I could find was where you could buy one...
It is only 20 pages long, I don't think it is going to tell you much....
If you go to the Toro Website, you can download pdf manuals...
They have a model 38050, but the year is 87 is as low as it goes, good chance that it is the same machine, It has all the same specs. It may be close to what you have... Try this link

Good luck,

The top model in the list, 1987, has an owners manual which covers through your serial number.
All the models listed have exploded views.

The Toro site lists years and serial number but I have bought 38050's from people that had their original purchase sales slips from years with serial numbers which did not match the list. I think the 8 million run was sold for many years.

The 38050 was a fantastic model with great gearing, 3 and 2 and a nice interlock system. It's easy to guide around and digs right into EOD piles. Most of the bodies around will still last for many years. The engines now have many years on them and often weak or push oil. They are worth tweaking with a valve lap and rings.

They were not fantastic tossers for distance compared to more modern machines with higher auger and impeller speeds with chutes designed for distance. But they can clear as fast as a modern machine and don't lift as soon as a new machine when attacking a stubbon compacted pile. The only feature this model lacks compared to a new machine is auger clutch locking with the drive clutch.

Hey Trouts,

The digit of the serial number on Toro stuff is the year the model was made, in the later years they went to a 2 digit year system ( if I remember right) 1978 serial 8xxxxxx , 1979 9xxxxxx, 1983 3xxxxxxx, 1987 7xxxxxx....

Most model numbers did not have a 10 + year run ... so it was not a problem...

Good Luck,

Friiy
