Took apart a 6.5 hp Honda the other day...

I took apart a 6.5 Hp Honda the other day... IT was made cheaper than some Honda motors ( it was on a Craftsman mower)... I like the way it came apart.... The carb was easy to access and remove links, The choke was odd, It had a timer unit attached to it, It would only stay on choke for a couple of second as the engine started up..

Also this model had the tilted pan at about 45 degrees (meaning the case did not split apart perpendicular to he crank)... also this is one that had the rubber timing belt/overhead cam.. I think the cam/belt thing is to reduce valve train noise.

One thing, I did think was odd, The valve cover was sealed on with a factory putty, I think the case was also...(no gasket)..

Anyway, seemed like a nice motor, made to go head to head with Tec. and Briggs sold at Dept stores...
