Question on an Ariens 924050
Original Message   Sep 18, 2009 8:10 am
I bought an old 824 in the middle of last winter used when my ancient True Value snow blower died.  Model numbe ris 924050 S/N is 020654.  Right now I have it totally disassembled because I wanted to throroughly go over it before winter.  I am checking all the bearings, replacing the belts, cleaning up and checking for wear on all the parts.  I am also going to clean up all the sheet metal and give it a new coat of paint.  One question I have is that I never really liked how low the chute was and thought if I could put a taller newer style chute on it might throw farther.  Also I would love to have chute tilt control from the handlebars.  I have seen these on ebay and was wondering if anyone know whether or not they would fit on my machine.  Even with a little fabrication.

Also is there anything else I should look for to make sure this thing runs as good as possible come winter?

Thanks for any help.

Brandon
