Better mousetrap chute control for snowblower
Original Message   Jul 14, 2009 8:58 am
Some chutes vibrate out of position and can be tough to stabilize on older machines.  Here’s one solution I found on a machine I picked up yesterday.  It looks like a kluge but was very nicely done.   You would think it catches on the valve handle segments but does not and works smoothly which is hard to imagine when looking at it.  The catch is a valve handle and the pull lever spring loaded.   The valve handle is mounted with three rivets and a solid mount.   Several manufacturers have cranks that move to fixed positions but this is the best working crank of this type I’ve seen.  Mounted on an Ariens ST824.

Its for selecting what type of snow the blower will throw best, this one goes to "11" for just a little more "oomph" with slush.
