toro snowblower with differential
Original Message   Feb 20, 2009 6:50 pm
I have a 1995 toropowershift 824 wit hte differential option. I found the differentia lwhen lock had excessive travel to the right. Almost 45 degrees. I suspect a wor ngea r internally. It actua lcost more to buy the gear set thasnt to but a new differential kit. I am going to installl the new kit to morrow. I will tear thwe old differential apart and determine the failure cause. It seems senseless when I can buy a new differential kit for less than the parts required to repair the original kit.

Torro has the differential kit 38038 122.00, gearseat, 145.00 and differential assy, 225.00. the differential assy is included in the 38038 kit.

This is a 1995 38540 powershift 824.
