snowblower tires
Original Message   Jan 24, 2009 5:42 pm
Should a snowblower be kept off its tires in the offseason? Will it develop flat spots or go flat if the tires are not kept off the floor?

At the end of the season, I usually inflate them to max limit on the tire and just leave them on the machine and the machine on the wheels.  Never had any problems in over twenty years.  Just keep them inflated and make sure they don't have a slow leak.  If they do leak, use some Slime or EZ Seal to stop the leak.

In theory keeping the weight off the tires and using them once or twice a month will help them last longer. In actuality I try to remember to get the weight off the tires but I normally forget. I have read that some of the forum members use a crate to store and protect their machines during the off season.
