Today I took the Ariens out for a quick and fast blow, has I was getting to finish the job, I heard a strange noise coming from the front hehehe, the impeller was turning but not the rakes whoooo, I took

the thing apart and I was surprised of what I saw take a look

No comment on this one here

This is whats left of the  radial bearing couldn't find any ball s around

This one looks good to the eye but it's worn at the end so here's the thing I' m searching for a deal or new parts for 86$ or more what a mess

To get the shaft out I had to hammered it and then grind around the end shaft to reinsert the bearing

Like he said, you know what the problem is and what you need to fix it. I'd say that was more than half the battle. Let's hope you get the parts in before the next storm, and you can wirebrush & paint the normally unreachable parts while you wait. (OK, I'm just trying to find the "Good News" part of this, there has to be one somewhere)

Notice the part # has changed?  Hmmmm .....

Good Luck!

Who the hell let all the morning people run things?

It looks like there is a lot of dried grease on the helical.  Did the case have any grease?

Older Simplicitys had a gear like that but even thicker as the axle was much thinner.  It was held in place with a key.  It looks like yours is held on with a roll pin.  was the round part a brass pin?  What model is that?

Trouts2 your right, I think the gear case was starving a little, I put some  grease in  2 years ago and I used some cold weather gear oil from Canadiantire, I think next time I'll get Ariens specific ones. Probaly my gear

got so hot and dry...

The good news is it's not a Honda

Looks like it won't cost you that much, hope it won't take long to get the parts.
Good luck.
