need snowblower maint. help...
Original Message   Jan 17, 2009 8:48 pm
I just purchased a Simplicity 11570E pro snowblower. The manual says to use medium weight (10W) oil to certain points. Is that 10w30,10w40 etc???Also can I use Lithium Grease wherever the manual says to use grease because it just says to "grease" certain points. Also should I keep the wheels off the ground when in the offseason.Should anything be sprayed om the auger blades and impeller blades when stored away?

If you mean outside the engine, you're better off using a straight 10 weight non-detergent oil.

Look for Borat's post titled: "A Tip on a very good grease for outside applications".

It never hurts to hit them with a light oil to help fight rust. It will pick up dust and dirt but the first snow the following year will remove it. I've noticed the bottom of the impeller housing rusts the fastest, now I spray that all the time.

Who the hell let all the morning people run things?
