blizzard warning - yeah
Original Message   Jan 12, 2009 5:30 pm
Only a guy who posts on a snowthower forum would look forward to a blizzard.  From tonight through tomorrow a true blizzard warning.  glad to have the snow cab and a machine that likes to play in the snow.

Clay,

I bought the classic cab at sears and wondering how it would fit the Ariens 7524E. Is there going to be a weight issue since its a compact blower.

I've had that Classic Deluxe snow cab on three different machines and it worked well on everyone of them:  Craftsman 14.5, Ariens 1130 DLE and a John Deere 1130SE.  Good investment indeed.  I have no experience with the 7524E. but see no reason it shouldn't fit.

I check weather.com every day waiting for snow!  Everyone else around me hates the snow but I can't wait for it!  :-)  It's already flurrying outside and I swear it's like the equivalent of a warm sunny day!

Here's my first video, I'm like a proud poppa!

Its not so much that the person posting is looking forward to snow, its that most of the people reading the post immediately check their local weather and then think either "oh boy me too" or "Nuts, I wish I was as lucky as that guy/gal".

That's a good amount of snow.  Nice snowblower.  I see you found a patch of grass in your front walkway.

Let that machine flex its muscle.  I'm sure you can adjust the angle of the deflector up a bit.  Put that snow in the neighbor's yard.    .

I tend to throw that stuff up too, but noticed in my owners manual it suggested that I throw it lower.  I do blow it onto the neighbors because the prevelant winds blow that direction so that is where it goes.  I feel a little guilty so I do their sidewalk and driveway too.

That was a cool video Jay, what is the impeller kit that you spoke of.  I could probably do a Google search, but thought that I would prefer to hear about it from someone that owns it instead of someone trying to sell something.

The blizzard here was terribly dissapointing.  Only about 2" of snow, but very cold and the winds have died down now.  I did really like the heated grips again today.  I thought that they were gimmicky to begin with, but now like them like I like my heated seats in the car.  At first I thought that those were for wimps, but now it is a requirement on a vehicle.

The Impeller Kit is called a "Clarence Impeller Kit" and I learned about it from just searching around the web and reading up on snowblowers during the time that elapsed between me buying my snowblower and actually getting to use it. There are some videos that reference it on YouTube, and other sites have mentioned it as well. Pretty much all the feedback I've seen has been positive, so I figured for $30 it was worth a shot. The kit is basically four rubber paddles and mounting hardware that allows you to extend your impeller blades so they actually touch the impeller housing. (Apparently Hondas are the only ones that are like this from the factory.) Now I am a newbie and had no experience with using a snowblower before this one so I can't really tell you how much better the thing performs, but I can tell you that my friends are all impressed with it's throwing abilities, especially when it comes to the slushy heavy stuff at the end of the driveway. I can throw it onto the neighbor's apron if I want to. ;-) Not that I would... Hell, I do their driveway anyway just because I enjoy using the machine so much!

Anyway, I most certainly am not a spokesperson for the kit but I really like the power my machine has. If you are interested, here is a link to the guy who sells them. http://smllengns.tripod.com/
