Parts For Sale... new parts and stuff laying around...
Original Message   Dec 11, 2008 2:46 pm
I know this is not Ebay....  But is there any problem with people posting stuff they have, tools parts or used stuff?

If I had something to buy, especially something model specific, I'd look here first. I run old iron, and I've had success in the past PMing people on old posts. I don't think anyone would get offended if you wanted to buy or sell something on here. This website will either grow or die, and the more use it sees the better.

Contents under pressure....

I don't see any problem with it but the "for sale" posts should have a section of their own.   A "classified" section set up just like the "Reviews."   Personally I  would not want to accidentally create a market that would attract users with different intentions.   If you are looking to buy or looking to sell then you have specific intentions.  No reason to mix those up with the general discussions ( an otherwise diverse group of interests).   That way people that don't have any interest in the classifieds can just ignore them.  The only other concern is if there is a bandwidth issue and the classified section gets big and starts bogging us down.  It would be nice to have a place to look for odd parts or dispose of extra parts that you know someone could really use.

I agree with the concept and also agree that the adds be set up in a separate tab next to the "Reviews".
