Fred---I recently mounted one like that on my 52" Murray built, Stanley. I like it, keeps up with your hours plus let,s you know when it is time to change oil. Mine is a Brigg,s product, bought it thru a supplier I ordered parts from---Thinking about putting them on all my mowers- Wonder if E-bay has any left?---Your friend---Will

Why are there two wires for this model hour meter, I thought they only require one wire that works off the spark plug lead? Is the second wire for a backlight feature? Thank you.

Rich,

The big jagged semi connector goes on the plug. The second wire I assume goes to ground!!

Will find out when I receive mine and will let you know.

Received my 2 hour meters today.

The hour meter is called, "Maintenance Minder", made by Briggs and Stratton.

I installed it in 5 minutes. started her up, timed it with a stop watch, at 6 minutes, time read 1/10. Right on!

Red wire wraps around sparkplug wire 4 times, other wire (white) goes to engine as a ground.

Pecanwill, check out: www.becoparts.com, they have the timers for $11.95 each plus shipping
