looking for a walk behind mower good for hills.
Original Message   Oct 19, 2008 5:07 pm
i currently have a 48" ferris walk behind ultrabelt.  i have a large hill on my property and when i cut down the hill the transmission/drive does not hold the mower back and it takes me for a ride down the hill.  will a hydrostatic drive mower solve this problem and offer some resistance as i mow going down the hill.  thanks

i don't have an answer about the run away problem but whatever you get make sure it has an oil pump lubricating oil system.just a splash system depending on how steep the hills are could starve your mower of oil and do serious damage.ie short engine life. mkd

A goat and a 40 foot chain around it's neck..  Tie the other end to a stump.
