cub cadet 2000 series 2186 18 hp koehler blowing 25 amp ignition fuses
Original Message   Sep 17, 2008 8:58 pm
have 200 hours on cub cadet and have never had it act up while mowing with the ign in the non headlight position.turned the headlights on by putting the ign switch to the headlight  position and it ran for about 1 minute and  it just died. this is the first time i have ever tried to mow with the lights on in the 6 yrs  i  have owned the mower.i have never had it kill while mowing  in the non headlight ign position.the book says that the two fuses are 20 amp but in fact they are 25 amp.and they are original never replaced. the one that blows is the left side as your sitting on the tractor.i replaced the fuse three more times and it runs about 30 seconds and blows with the lights on.i f i don't  start the tractor and just turn the ign and headlights on  it doesn't blow.could it be the ignition module going bad drawing too much amperage?suppose maybe the switch? as of now all i know is it will not hold while running with the lights on and it is associated with the lights on part of the ign switch.any imput on what's going on would be appreciated. mike
