The Jacobson Imperial 826 Heavy Ducy, 52640T sr 7550.
Does anyone have a computer copy of the manual they could email me or provide a link to an online copy?
It had a bunch of problems which were worked off. The last issue is the handle that engages the tractor friction disk.
The handle lever pulls the linkage rod connected to an arm sticking out of the tractor housing. The arm when lifted pushes the friction disk forward into the drive plate. That works but there is nothing to pull the friction disk back, the arm down and cause the handle lever to go up.
The handle lever has to be hand pulled up to get the friction disk off the drive plate. The linkage rod is so loose it slips out of the hole in the handle lever. There must have been a spring pulling the friction disk or the friction disk assembly back to the rest position and also keep the linkage tite.
There's no spring in the tractor housing now and no holes in the assembly or the tractor body which look like candidates that would have anchored a spring. A spring could be moused in there to get the job done but it would be nice to know what was there and try to get a match.
Any manual for the JI826 or any Jacobson snowblower close to that would probably have the same tractor setup so would work.
