Honda Snow Thrower Model HS521A Auger Assembly
Original Message   Mar 20, 2008 1:36 pm
Does anyone know where I might find an Auger Assembly for Honda HS521A ? A new replacement assembly costs $405.00. This machine runs perfectly and I would really like to hang on to it, but I can probably buy a new machine for not much more than the cost of the auger.

Very old post but has anyone found a viable solution for this problem? I've got a lovely HS621 that needs an auger?

What condition are the rubber paddles?  If they are worn and need replacement, a complete set of rubber is about $100.  Something to consider.

There is a store on ebay that sells complete new metal auger assembly with new rubber paddles and screws / lock nuts for about $250.  Just look up HS621 auger.  Not sure if you are willing to spend that much.   But considering it has full set of rubber installed, the auger itself (brand new) is essentially $150.

The HS621 is a well built machine.  The engine lasts forever so usually the things that go bad is the auger assembly and side bucket panels.   You may get lucky and find an auger savaged from a non-running snowblower.  But because the age of this model, most of the time, the auger is pretty bent up and the rubber are worn out bad.

Good luck.

Wow! $260+$10 for a new auger assembly. I used to have a very soft spot for HS621. However, the rubbers on HS520 wear out so fast on my concrete driveway only after two seasons so I am glad I did not chase down a HS621. Changing rubbers on HS621 (similar to HS35) is not as easy as HS520. I am sure HS621 will last 20-30 years but there are so many gooder and newer SS models out there to choose from.

Hey solara great post. Would you mind stating where you pulled the prices for those parts from? Thanks ahead of time. Looking for a good source for wholesale parts.
